CASSIE Seppanen has woven a smorgasbord of delights into Rosewood Show’s entertainment menu.
She’s the section’s Chief Steward and over the years she’s planned and executed countless show days filled with fun.
“Our night entertainment on Friday is the bull ride and that’s going to start with a demonstration from Walter Whip and his flamed whips,” she said.
“After that there’s an after-party with rock and country music band The Berrymen, they’re going to keep the party going into the night.”
On Saturday, Brophy’s Circus will be performing and running free workshops for children.
“The Brophy Circus Globe of Death is going to be exciting, it’s a big transparent globe and riders do stunts inside it,” she said.
“There’s also an eating competition and that was very popular last year.
“Six children compete to see who can eat the most cherios [mini red sausages] in three minutes.
“Then the adults will do the same but with larger sausages.”
On Saturday, there’s a kid’s Outback Challenge where children are randomly selected to take part.
“They get into teams of four and do the challenge in the main arena,” she said.
“Then they take part in competitions like rolling up a swag, moving hay bales and walking along a plank.
“There’s an Outback Challenge for adults too and it’s a real crowd pleaser.”
The stage will be a busy place with fashion parades and performances by local dance groups.
“D’Aguilar Wildlife will have their animals here and there’s an animal nursery,” she said.
“There’s pony rides and plenty of food options.”
There’s a chill in the air when the sun sets, it’s winter and just past 5pm, when the show kicks things up a notch.
That’s when rides seem to go faster, there’s electricity in the air as music and lights paint everything with colour.
Families enjoy alfresco dining, there’s plenty of choice as they take advantage of an easy dinner.
Teens use the darkness to escape, and they fade away behind whirring carnival rides and caravan food vans.
The show bar is open too, so head over and enjoy an alcoholic drink if you’re over 18.
Watch as motorbike stunt riders from FMX Khaos put on a show, and if you stick around long enough you might even see fireworks.
