A HARNESS racing trainer has plans to build stables on a property beside the Marburg race track.
Town planning agents for Ricky Gordon have applied to the Ipswich City Council for a development permit to change the zoning of land off Marburg Quarry Road from Rural C (Rural Living) to Intensive Animal Husbandry (Horse Stable).
The rezoning permit would accommodate the proposed construction of a shed incorporating ten stable bays.
The shed is planned to be built in an open grassy area on the property and accessed off Marburg Quarry Road via the same crossover used to access the existing home and outbuildings.
The western boundary of the 9.8ha property neighbours the Marburg racetrack and showgrounds.
Council planners are currently reviewing the application.
