New amenities under construction at the Rosewood Showgrounds
1 min read

WORK is currently on schedule with the new showgrounds amenities building at the Rosewood Showgrounds camping grounds.

The building is expected to be completed June 17.

Funding for the new building was made available by the Ipswich City Council when it was judged that repairs to the existing building was not a viable option.

The new building will be accessed by a series of walkways and ramps and has been designed to suit the rural surroundings.

Its purpose will be to provide a camp kitchen and amenities for campers.

Mayor Teresa Harding said Council was pleased that the works were on schedule and on budget.

The anticipated cost of the building is $863,000.

“The building is to fit into its surroundings, which is the showground pavilion building, the design achieves this by using similar materials and colours to these existing buildings on site,” Cr Harding said.

The building will be elevated to allow floodwaters to flow beneath the building without causing damage.
