Equestrian team wins Reserve Championship

THE West Moreton Anglican College Equestrian team won the Reserve Championship award in the Stuartholme School Show Jumping competition during the weekend.

The college team competed as individuals and as a group at the event which was held at Fig Tree Pocket.

Team members were Kayla Moore who won first place in the 90cm class, Scarlett Hart who won second place in the 70cm class, Sienna Alves who won fifth place in the 70cm class and Ella Flux who won ninth place in the 70cm class.

Kayla said she had been training for the event and that it was rewarding to be a member of such a big achievement for the team.

“The equestrian team is very supportive of everyone and when we are competing, we watch and cheer for each other,” she said.

“I have been training in equestrian since starting school as a Prep student and WestMac has been supportive of my commitments, especially of my Australian representative dreams.

"This is my third year on my young horse, River Downs Bronson and my goal is to continue working up the heights in show jumping and to again represent Queensland at the Australian Interschool Equestrian Championships.”
