LIZA Tully, the wife of long-serving Division 2 Ipswich councillor Paul Tully, has died.

She passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, July 22, at the Mater Private Hospital in South Brisbane.

Their two sons, John Paul and James, were at her bedside when she died at 2.05am.

Councillor Tully arrived shortly after.

The couple had been married for 27 years.

“She has been my Rock for 27 beautiful years,” Cr Tully posted on social media. “She said at the weekend: ‘I’ve had a good life’. May you rest in peace Liza.”

At yesterday morning’s Ipswich City Council infrastructure committee meeting, Division 3 councillor Andrew Antoniolli acknowledged the loss.

“We are all deeply saddened by [the news] and we as a council, and I’m sure the administration as well, would like to pass on our deepest sympathies to Paul and his family at this time,” Cr Antoniolli said.
