Springfield Parkway works progress

NIGHT works undertaken last week on the Springfield Parkway Centenary Highway off-ramp have achieved a major construction milestone for the city’s largest road upgrade project.

Work is progressing to expand Springfield Parkway and Springfield Greenbank Arterial from two to four lanes.

The off ramp will now be reduced to one lane for about eight months as vegetation clearing and excavation work are undertaken as day works.

Stage 3 works on Springfield Greenbank Arterial Road between Sinnathamby Boulevard towards Eden Station Drive include kerb and channel installation in preparation for a spray seal prior to the laying of new asphalt.

Works were prioritised next to Brighton Homes Arena to minimise impacts during the recent AFLW Grand Final.

Progress continues to be made on Stage 1 works including sub-grade replacement and preparation, stormwater drainage, asphalt works, footpaths and installation of street lighting in preparation for a traffic switch early in the year.

The Springfield Parkway and Springfield Greenbank Arterial Road Upgrade is funded by the State Government through the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme and Ipswich City Council.
