LETTERS: Accommodation for homeless
1 min read

I WRITE regarding homelessness in the city of Ipswich.

Browns Park and the banks of the Bremer River have become the new home for the homeless in Ipswich.

There are empty business houses with For Lease on the property. They were once family homes.

Surely compassion can override greed and the proprietor could offer short term accommodation for these unfortunate people.

Only 30 minutes from Ipswich’s CBD and the now closed Tallegalla School with an empty house sits vacant and owned by the Ipswich City Council. There is accommodation for the homeless. Australia isn’t a Third World Country.
