ATHLETES from the Rosewood Branch Little Athletics Club have been congratulated for the performance during the season at the recent awards event.
Louise McNamara said that the club had a “great season and all the athletes should be very proud of their individual achievements”.
“Commitment to sport is really important, turning up for each training day takes strength and achieving personal bests is an important part of athletics,” she said.
“Striving to improve your own performance each time you come to your event is what our club is all about and we encourage athletes to realise it is not all about winning instead it is about doing your best.”
Avril Clark was invited to present the Tiny Tot Encouragement Awards that were named after her due to her long-term commitment and passion for the club.
Club age champions, attendance, improvement, encouragement and champions awards were also presented.
Special guest at the presentations was one of the original committee members, Lynne O’Donnell, who joined the gathering with her daughter and granddaughter.
A celebration cake was cut after the presentations by both Lynne and Avril as they shared stories of the past and were thanked for their commitment, passion and dedication to the club and its athletes.
