Level up your outdoor game at Marburg expo
2 min read

GREENTHUMBS and lovers of everything that grows will already have Marburg Garden and Outdoor Expo added to their ‘important events’ calendars.

If you haven’t, this is your chance to do it now because this year is looking to be the biggest ever.

The Expo is held at the Marburg Showgrounds and it attracts thousands of people every year.

Marburg Show Society vice president Barb Frohloff reports that 160 exhibitors were already booked in and confirmed.

“The word is out that the Expo is a good place to grab a bargain,” Barb said.

“And it’s just like heaven for gardening enthusiasts.”

She said exhibitors liked Marburg’s garden expo because site and accommodation costs were affordable, unlike many other garden shows.

“When the cost of exhibiting is high, exhibitors have to bump up their prices to cover their expenses,” she explained.

“Because our fees are reasonable, they don’t need to do that and the public benefit from lower prices.”

The Marburg Garden and Outdoor Expo gets bigger every year as people return to level up their outdoor lifestyle game.

There are also guest speakers who share their tips on how to get the most out of your outdoor space.

“We will have Jill from Searles on hand to give gardeners advice about gardening products,” she said.

“There will be a free planting station where an empty tea or coffee cup can have a seedling put inside it.

“It would be veggies or flowers you take home.”

The good folk from Brymac Native Bees will be there too, so bring your apiary questions to them at the Expo.

There is plenty to see and do, and you won’t go hungry either.

“We will have hamburgers, barista-made coffee, sandwiches, tea, coffee and cakes,” Barb said.

“There’ll be Asian food and German sausages, plus a range of sweet treats too.”

Gates open at 8am but cars can be parked in the parking area from 7.30am onwards for free.

“We urge people to have their $5 Expo entry fee in cash to speed up the entry process,” she said.

“There’s so much to do and see, so get there early and snap up some bargains.”

The Expo is on Saturday, August 23 at Marburg Showground from 8am to 2pm.
