Developments changing the Walloon landscape
1 min read

MORE than 60 new homes were approved at Walloon in the first three months of this year.

The number of housing estates which have been approved by the Ipswich City Council in recent years has changed the landscape of the once small, rural locality.

New stages of the Dawn Walloon estate have either been approved or are being planned.

The master planned community is expected to eventually fill 177 hectares of land with 1,800 homes.

The Dawn Walloon estate land is bounded by Taylors Road, Caledonian Road and Parkland Drive.

More than 900 homes are anticipated on final completion of the Highland Walloon estate which also carries the address of Taylors Road.

The developers have earmarked 57 hectares for the master planned community with the first stage release expected this year.

Another developer submitted an application to Council in February last year for a 42 housing lot subdivision on 3.2 hectares at 150 to 154 Taylors Road.

That application is currently going through the planning stages in Council.

A subdivision application proposing to subdivide three properties with a total area of four hectares into 64 housing allotments was submitted to Council in April 2024.

It too is currently going through the planning stages in Council.
