ART is subjective and it’s the differences that make this section at Rosewood Show intriguing.

Margherita Bess is the Chief Steward of the Fine Art, Scrap Booking and Papercraft section.

It’s her first year in this capacity but she has years of experience as an artist.

“I also run a local art group and understand how important volunteering is,” she said.

“When I was asked to run the Fine Arts section, I agreed because without volunteers running it there is no show.

“I’ve been involved in Rosewood Show in previous years and the previous steward had a family situation that precluded her from being able to continue.”

There will be all kinds of artwork on display, watercolour, acrylics, oil paint and mixed media.

“The themes are up to the artist, we don’t choose that for them,” she said.

“Sometimes artwork is entered by genre, so it could be a landscape, a streetscape or work that’s based on the local postcode area or a portrait.

“We usually have a very good turnout and selection from both the open section and the junior section.”
