A NEW group has been formed - the Lady Cilento Crafters, Sewing, Knitters and Natters - to create crafty creations that are all gifted to children at the Queensland Children’s Hospital (formerly the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital).

Group member Coralie Bradley said her passion for helping others thrives on the satisfaction it gives her knowing that others are being cared for.

“Our group meets in the building on top of the Tallegalla hill,” Coralie said.

“It is a lovely scenic spot and gives the ladies a chance to come together socially while sharing their creations.

“Each member of the group contributes in different ways and we set the room out with different knitting, sewing and craft activities all organised around making things for children who are in hospital.

“The items we make are teddies, hospital gowns, comfort objects, sleep toys, bibs, bags and other assorted things that come in handy when children are in hospital.

“Recently we donated many handmade teddies and the response from the nurses and staff was amazing.”
