Endangering police officer charge

POLICE have charged an 18-year-old man with dangerous driving offences, including endangering a police officer over an alleged incident at Brassall on Sunday.

Forensics officers were at the scene of a fatal traffic crash at Fernvale Road around 1.40am when a black Holden Commodore utility allegedly drove through a police roadblock and onwards through the crash scene, narrowly missing police officers.

The vehicle continued on its way but officers yesterday attended a Rowland Terrace, Coalfalls address, where they located the Commodore and arrested an 18-year-old man.

He has been charged with driving of a motor vehicle without a driver licence, driving without a license plate attached, endangering police officer when driving a motor vehicle.

He will face Ipswich Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Food delivery drivers targeted

POLICE are investigating the robbery and attempted armed robbery of two food delivery drivers in Ipswich on June 12.

A man and two teenage girls approached a 27-year-old man delivery driver around 8.20pm at an Omar Street address in West Ipswich.

The man left the scene soon afterwards and the two girls allegedly repeatedly pushed the driver before stealing food and a bag containing cash.

The Deebing Heights driver was uninjured.

Around 10.30pm, a 20-year-old woman arrived at a Young Street property at Riverview to deliver food but was told by the homeowner an order had not been made.

Three youths threatened the driver with a knife and demanded her phone and car keys as she approached her vehicle.

The offenders, who had their faces covered, attempted to drive off in the victim’s car but left the scene on foot.

The 20-year-old Bellbird Park woman was not physically injured.

Police are investigating whether there are links between the two incidents.

Man killed after collision

AN 18-year-old Brassall man died on Fernvale Road at Brassall on Friday night after his white Mazda 3 collided head on with a white Kia Seltos.

The driver of the Kia, 24-year-old Karalee woman, was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Police are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with relevant vision of the events leading up to the crash to come forward.
