Advertising material continues to extol the virtues of Woogaroo Forest, even though it has been earmarked for development.
SPRINGFIELD City Group’s Brookwater sales material continues to promote the “the Opossum Creek Conservation Estate” (pictured) as a reason to buy one of its homes – despite being earmarked for a housing estate.
Sales staff were unable to tell the Tribune why the forest was still being marketed and offering a green lifestyle that looks soon to be erased from the map.
The Opossum Creek Conservation Estate – otherwise known as Woogaroo Forest – will be flattened by Stockland for 1,800 homes if public opposition and environmental concerns are ignored.
Meanwhile, Ipswich council bureaucrats recently signed off on the next stage of the development proposal and gave approval for Village 2 of Springview Village.
Federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek must still approve the development under environmental guidelines set out in the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Act (EPBC).
Submissions to the Federal Environment Department will open soon for community input.
