Motorcyclist dies in crash
A 37-year-old motorbike rider has died in a crash at Richlands last Thursday.
The Redbank Plains man was travelling west on Pine Road about 3pm when he struck a sedan heading in the opposite direction before the intersection of Garden Road.
The motorcyclist was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital but died a short time later.
The driver of the sedan was not physically injured in the incident.
Forensic Crash Unit officers are appealing for dashcam vision of the accident or any witnesses that has not spoken with investigators to contact police on 1800 333 000.

New Assistant Commissioner for Ipswich

ASSISTANT Commissioner Charysse Pond has been appointed as the new Assistant Commissioner for Southern Region following the recent retirement of Assistant Commissioner Mike Condon.
Assistant Commissioner Pond currently leads the People Capability Command which includes the management of the Queensland Police Academy.
Southern Region incorporates the Ipswich, Darling Downs and South West policing districts.
Commissioner Katarina Carroll congratulated Assistant Commissioner Pond on her appointment.
“Assistant Commissioner Pond will bring a wealth of experience and strategic direction to her new role, overseeing a significantly diverse area of the state spanning from Ipswich to the South Australian border,” Commissioner Carroll said.

Coffee with a cop
HEAD down to Sutton Park on June 15 where Karana Downs Police will be hosting a Coffee with a Cop morning.
Coffee with a Cop is an initiative of the Queensland Police Service which gives members of the community an opportunity to speak with local police about any issues, concerns or ask questions they may have.
It is an opportunity to come and meet your local police and have a chat over a cup of coffee.
The event will run from 10am to 12pm in Sutton Park.
