A STATE of the art equine training and rehabilitation centre beside Canungra Creek at Boyland sold at auction for almost $6 million, late last month.
The 33-hectare property off the Mundoolun Connection Road was owned by former managing director of the 2K Thoroughbreds syndicate, Sterling Cincotta.
It was a thoroughbred horse complex when he purchased it in 2019 for $3.5 million.
Cincotta funded an extensive upgrade and development of the facilities before leasing it to Fenwick Farm Operations.
Now known as Fenwick Farm, it is run as a bespoke breaking in, pre-training and rehabilitation centre which tailors programs to the specific needs of each horse.
The lessees have a leased stay agreement through to August 2024.
Selling points included the equine facilities which include 75 stables, 20 paddocks, two round yards, an arena, a 40-metre lap pool, horse walkers, a 1,300 metre sand track and a 1,500 grass track as well as an equine hospital with two operating theatres.
On the residential side of the selling sheet, Fenwick Farm boasts a four-bedroom home, a one bedroom house and three bedroom staff accommodation in the main stable complex.
A $2 million bid kick started the auction which was held at the Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast. Bids slowed at $5.8 million and reached $5.95 million before the drop of the hammer.
